48 | Stages of Grief Series Part 4: Bargaining
Have you ever made a mistake or let someone down—and then tried to “make it up” to them?
Maybe you promised to be home at a certain time but were late, so you offered to make it right.
Or perhaps you missed quality time with your child and promised a special treat to make up for it.
These are examples of bargaining—trying to restore peace when we know we’ve fallen short.
Though these everyday situations seem small, they reflect a deeper pattern many of us experience after abortion.
It’s common to feel like we have to pay penance or somehow “earn” forgiveness for our decision. While bargaining is just one part of the grief journey, it’s important to recognize it—and find a way to move beyond it.
I pray this episode brings you encouragement and hope as you navigate this stage of grief.
