It wasn’t until God spoke to me through a worship song during one of the lowest points in my life that I realized that He truly had never left me and that he was calling me home. I opened up my Bible, studied his word, learned his true character, and partnered with him for eternity as he healed by heart and restored my brokenness. When sharing truth, we must be equipped with what to say and when to say it, and we also need to share it in love. Having discussions about abortion can get ugly and can cause us to lose friends. We don’t want to do that. We want to share the truth, we want to share our experience, we want to share the true cost of abortion in a respectful and loving way because at the end of the day, we can’t force someone to change their mind but we can extend grace just as God has extended grace to us

Let me guess: as someone who has had one or more abortions in the past, you're afraid to talk to your pro-life friends. What if they don't accept you? What if they judge you and no longer want to associate with you because of what you did?
This couldn't be further from the truth. While every group of people has an extreme, a majority of pro-life people act as the first face of mercy to women who have had an abortion. As someone who deeply regrets your abortion(s) and is seeking hope and healing, you should be equipped to know how to talk to your friends on both the pro-life side of the aisle and the pro-choice side of the aisle!

Cradle My Heart by Kim Ketola is a must read for every woman that has had one or more abortions in her lifetime. If you seek to heal, this book is a great start. Listen in to hear my thoughts!

It’s our LAST installment of the Stages of Grief Series! Today, we are talking about acceptance in regards to the last stage of grief.
So, what does acceptance after our abortion truly mean? Does it mean that we're ok now? That we aren't grieving anymore? Does it mean we're ok with our abortion and think that it was a good thing?
Grief is not something we "grow out of." Grief is always a part of us, but we learn to grow around it. We can get to the stage of acceptance in our grief without thinking that what we did was good or ok. We are going to talk more about that today, so get ready to dive in.

Have you ever done something wrong, or maybe not lived up to an expectation, and then tried to make it up to the person you wronged?
Maybe you said you’d get home at certain time and were late, so you told your spouse you would make it up to them somehow.
Perhaps you missed out on hanging out with your child so promised them ice cream or a treat to make up for it.
In each situation, you’re bargaining in an effort to keep the peace.
While these actions are fairly trivial in comparison to what we’re talking about, they are still examples of what we do when we know we've done wrong.
When it comes to our abortion decision, it’s common for us to feel like we need to pay a penance for what we've done. While this is just a small part of what the stage of bargaining looks like, it's important that we talk about it and move on from it.
We pray that this episode helps you as you move through this stage in your grief.
